Well I finally got it together tonight and finished off the book that I have been working on this week.
It was a sort of dry run for the really major project I have in mind using some of the fabric I bought at the Dazaifu flea market the other week- so I was trying out another way of covering the book, and seeing how the glue worked with the fabric, how tough it was to work the edges etc. It hasn't turned out perfectly... there are a lot of places where I am not happy, but I am happy with how the front cover turned out.
The cover
The cover with my hand as a scale
The inside of the front cover
The inside of the front and back covers
I did a design on the spine as well but by the time I got to that I had mangled the fibre tip on the pen so it turned out crappy. Which makes me kind of sad because if not for that I would *adore* this. As it is I just kind of like it.
It measures 9.5cm by 11cm. The cover is artists' board, covered with brown canvas, inside and out; and the design is hand drawn in fabric pen. The pages are standard printer paper. It is bound with linen mull and crochet thread.
