Character A did this. Rinse. Repeat.

Listening to: The dawn chorus
Mood: Puzzled

Whoa, ok, been reading fic again and there's one ongoing one that I was quite enjoying and I liked the premise and everything, and then all of a sudden it went... really really bad.

I don't mean that the story went bad- it is still a good story. But all of a sudden the writer started writing everything like this:

Character A did this.
Character B did this, and this.
Character A did this.
"Something pointless," said Character A.
Character B did this, this and this.
Character A did this.

I kid you not. For about 100 lines! 50 separate actions for each character, alternating, with some speech thrown in. Every single sentence started with one of the characters' names and I don't think that it was a conscious stylistic choice.

How could they not have noticed?

I think my brain has exploded.
