The soundtrack to the movie of my life
3 comments on my sanity

Listening to: All of the below
Mood: Entertained

I purloined my school laptop to use at home for the purposes of "work". This is of course why I am now doing a music meme.

The soundtrack of my life

1. Open your library (iTunes, Winamp, Media Player, iPod, etc.
2. Put it on shuffle
3. Press play
4. For every question, type the song that's playing
5. When you go to a new question, press the next button
6. Don't lie and try to pretend you're cool...

Opening Credits
April Wine- Sign of the Gypsy Queen
My life is a cheesy prog odyssey about a cursed gold claim. Awesome.

Waking Up
Journey- Something to Hide
A pretty good waking up song actually, if I'm a melancholy normal sort of person who is dissatisfied with their lot in life and just waiting for a cheesy prog odyssey to take them on a whirlwind Indy adventure.

Also the dude in this sings a duet with the guitar. That totally never fails to make me glee in extreme quantities.

First Day At School
Mana- Rayando El Sol (Live)
Hmm... A song about unrequited love? Obviously I meet Indy in the halls and am ruthlessly spurned or something.

Falling In Love
DVDA- What would Brian Boitano Do?
*DIES LAUGHING*
Nothing like a South Park song to add to the romance of that moment. It's obviously Brian Boitano that I fall for, not Indy.

Fight Song
"Limp Cookie Monster"- Did It All For The Cookie
... Ummmmm
Now Brian and I seem to have taken up monster hunting. Poor Cookie Monster, he didn't mean to eat all those townspeople.

Breaking Up
Robbie Robb- In Time
Oh NOES! I left Brian alone by the roadside after explaining that I had unspecified "things to do" but that I would come back for him someday! I WILL BRIAN! BRIAN I LOVE YOU! THIS HURTS ME MORE THAN IT HURTS YOU! WE JUST HAVE TO BE APART FOR A WHILE!

Prom
Tom Jones- She's a Lady
Not sure why I am going to a prom when just a little while ago I was monster hunting with Brian Boitano. Maybe I am ridding a high school of some horrible beasts.
Better still I left Brian because I wanted to finish high school and achieve my dream of higher education!
I am now tarted up in a very pricey ball gown, obviously. I should go to finishing school too, while I'm at it.

Life Is Good
Hot Butter- Popcorn
LIFE IS GOOD! IT CONTAINS POPCORN!

Mental Breakdown
Elvis Presley- Suspicious Minds
I think I am despairing of ever meeting Brian again and have taken up with a guy who is two timing me. My life sucks.

Driving
The Outlaws- Stay With Me
Relentlessly cheerful. I am on a long, soul-searching road trip to find Brian, listening to country rock music because that's just what you *do* when you're on the road looking for an American professional ice-skater turned monster slayer.

Flashback
Joe Jackson- Happy Loving Couples
Obviously my memories of monster killing with Brian can be boiled down to a comedy montage where we go into restaurants on dates and end up with sea monsters in our soup, and never get a real date :(

Getting Back Together
Elton John & Little Richard- The Power
AWESOME.
Brian is still kicking monster ass, and I am now apparently psychic to help him. Either that or I have amazing evangelical powers of healing, but I like psychic better.

Wedding
I don't know if I am going to use this section because bah. But if the song is too good to pass up then I will include it anyway. :D
... Nope, the song suits Paying The Dues better so I am going to cheat.

Paying The Dues
Savage Garden- Break Me Shake Me
This song is absolutely not happy enough to use as a wedding song unless we have a blazing row at the altar. Marrying Brian Boitano is a little further than I want to go anyway!
Instead he is possessed and we are having a real fight with weapons. Thankfully we have been practising our hand to hand combat because otherwise I would obviously be no match for his triple-lutz.
I will have to kill Brian to save my own life, how tragic!

The Night Before The War
Rush- Witch Hunt
Blimey, my life has become very sinister and scary! Brian was possessed and I was forced to kill him, and now I am looking for the evil witch that did it to him! I am pissed off and out for revenge!

Final Battle
KRS-One- The Sound of Da Police
o.O Nothing like a nice Hip Hop track to mark a final battle. Actually it could be me being all badass in a long black coat a la Matrix.
Or it could be a nod to the vigilante nature of my quest which was highlighted rather pointedly in the previous Rush song...

Moment of Triumph
Bruce Springsteen- Secret Garden
Well the mood of this song is very much that I killed the evil witch but am now dying in the process. In fact I think I am having Gladiator-esque flashbacks to all the happy sunlit times when Brian did some salchows for my amusement or something?

Death Scene
Less Than Jake- Gainesville Rock City
... most un-sad death song ever.
I can only assume that we used to live in Gainesville and now I am returning there in my ghosty-form or something.

Funeral Song
Avenue Q- The Internet is for Porn
...
What the hell, MusicMatch? I'm DEAD!

End Credits
Mark Knopfler- Morning Ride
Awww nothing like a bit of Princess Bride soundtrack to happily round off the story of my life. It was full of ups and downs, but hey I was happy in the end.

Oooh now one of my Zydeco songs has come on. I think I need more.
