I have been researching eclipses for the astronomy unit in the grade 4 science curriculum. It's very exciting.
The most exciting thing, which i gleed about all the way home, is that in about the next year there will be 3 total lunar eclipses. There hasn't been one since 2004, and after this year there won't be one until 2010, so get them while they're hot.
Obviously in some places the eclipses won't be visible, but they will be on March 3rd 2007, August 28th 2007 and February 21st 2008. I am irrationally pleased by this.
Now I'm moving on to solar eclipses. There's a few partial ones this year, but there will also be a total eclipse in 2008 on the 1st August. I think it will be visible in the UK...
(Edit: No.. The eclipse will only be partially visible at 8.30 in the morning with about 12% coverage apparently)
Computer still not working, and now I'm faced with the ever-annoying problem that the only tech support they offer out here is in Japanese and I doubt my ability to understand what the heck they're on about.
I'm sulking and running up huge phone bills checking my email on my phone :(
And now for some tea. CAFFEINE IS MY FRIEND.
