Listening to: Journey- Stone in Love
Mood: Numb/Angry

I didn't write this entry last night in the end because I was too pissed off. I am now slightly less pissed off but I am still angry.

I can't remember how much I've actually put on here about this particular situation but I know I have ranted to some people abuot this at great length while others may not have heard anything.

In short: There are two kids in my class.
Boy R: Ray. Last year considered a problem child, now is a reformed character. Has the occasional lapse of impulse control but we're working on that.
Boy S: Pianist. "Tortured genius". Reportedly, his parents make him practise piano for 4 hours a day. Last year he had a problem with one of the boys in his class- that boy was forced to leave the school. This year Boy S has a problem with Ray, sparked by one or two incidents which were fairly serious but which we thought we had dealt with and which we have been working VERY hard to prevent from ever happening again. There have since been one or two incidents so minor as to cause me to jump about in rage that there was even a problem (I shall refer to one of them only as The Feather Incident).

Last night, Boy S's dad came to school for the third time this year to discuss Boy S, who has not been to school for a week. Last Tuesday there was some kind of incident after school, which did not involve Ray at all, by the way, and the boys that were involved have been spoken to. He had 3 days off school for a concert, and then said that he wasn't coming in to school.

Boy S's dad was at school from 6pm for an hour and three-quarters during which we seemed to be at a deadlock until I suggested that we just talk to Boy S every day after school to see how he is feeling about things, which his dad was very pleased about. He went home to convey the joyous news to his family.

George and I were just sneaking off home at 8pm when Mr. Koga's phone rang.

It was Boy S's dad, saying he had spoken to his wife and son and the thought of coming to school while Ray was there apparently made him cry and his hands shake (I remind you that the incident which caused him to stay away from school did not involve Ray, and that he had been at school happily with Ray for at least two weeks since The Feather Incident).

So it comes down to which of them do we want to stay, Boy S, or Ray?

Pretty easy decision for me, I'm afraid. Now I have to go and point this out to the head of the school office.
