Walking into my bedroom at 7.30pm to find a spider as big as my hand does not inspire a restful sleep.
However, putting the giant spider out of the window (despite its terrifyingly speedy scuttling on its hairy legs) and then playing Myst IV for 4 hours goes a long way to counteract the spider horror.
It's report week here, which means trying to think up comments for the childers that don't make them sound terrible but at the same time doesn't make them sound like they're angels if they aren't. This is more challenging than it sounds. Especially when you only have enough room for two sentences...
Then there's the grading which means choosing an A (satisfactory), a B (making progress) or a C (needs support) for several criteria. To me it's rather like filling in one of those questionnaires where they ask you to choose "poor, average, good or very good" and you go down the list circling "good" for everything because you didn't hate it, but you didn't love it enough to give it "very good", whatever it was.
